Puppy Saved From Railroad Tracks Now Up For Adoption

By Paul Johnson

Mecca, California (CNN) - This puppy is getting a second chance at life.
His owner tied him to railroad tracks near Mecca, California earlier this month and he was nearly crushed by an oncoming train.
The engineer saw the man walking away from the tracks and was able to stop the locomotive in time.
Officials did not press charges because the 78-year-old man appeared to be senile and didn't fully understand what he had done.
The 10-month-old poodle-terrier mix, nicknamed banjo, is now up for adoption.
