Stranded Boater Rescued Thanks To Radio Beacon
Sitka, Alaska (CNN) - Coast guard crews rescue a stranded boater from a 31-foot sailing vessel in the Gulf of Alaska on Tuesday
The helicopter crew safely hoisted the man from the deck.
He was uninjured.
There were 30-mile-per hour winds and 8-to-10 foot seas during the rescue.
The boater activated his registered emergency position indicating radio beacon when his vessel lost power Tuesday morning.
The coast guard says because of the EPIRB they were able to locate him quickly.
