Girls Caught Smuggling Heroin Across Border

Tucson, Arizona (CNN) - A 15-year-old girl allegedly cracked under the pressure of being used as a drug mule.
U-s border agents say she was caught with four bundles of heroin down her pants on a shuttle entering southern Arizona from Mexico.
At a regular inspection at this checkpoint, agents became suspicious when the girl acted nervous.
They searched her and her friends, and say they found nearly eight pounds of heroin, with a street value of about 90-thousand dollars.
The four girls are between the ages of 15 and 17.
The border patrol says teens are looking for thrills, are naive or willing to take cartel money to become drug mules.
The quick dollar I think takes precedence over reality.
If they accept that one time, what they think is a one-time opportunity, they're in for life: it's almost impossible to get out.
The border patrol says smugglers tell teens they won't be prosecuted.
But that's not the case.
Authorities say the four girls are charged with possessing and transporting drugs.
Punishments can range from time in juvenile detention to prison time.
Anyone 14 and older can be tried as an adult.
