West Boise Home Heavily Damaged In Fire
Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Boise Firefighters were called to a West Boise home this afternoon to find an oversized RV garage fully involved in fire. Flames from the fire could be seen several blocks away, prompting responding firefighters to immediately call for a 2nd Alarm. Sadly, the garage and it's contents, including an RV was completely destroyed, and the rest of the house suffered extensive fire, heat, smoke and water damage. Boise Firefighters were called at 12:48 p.m. by a neighbor who saw fire coming from the attached oversized garage at the home on the 3500 block of N. Rugby Drive, northeast of S. Maple Grove Rd and Ustick Rd. A fire company happen to be just blocks away on another call, saw the heavy smoke and immediately called for a 2nd Alarm.
Firefighters were on scene within two minutes of the emergency call and found the garage fully involved. Two people were reportedly inside the home at the time of the fire. Fortunately when firefighters arrived, the residents immediately informed them they were safely outside the home thanks to being alerted by a neighbor. The fire did spread into the home from the attached garage resulting in extensive damage.
Firefighters were able to keep flames from spreading to a neighboring home, although flames did destroy an outside fence, damage the neighbor's shed and heat melted the siding on a neighboring home.
The cause of the fire is undetermined by accidental.
