One Dead following Crash Near Smiths Ferry

Smiths Ferry, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Idaho State Police say one person was killed Sunday afternoon when their vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and crashed into a semi truck. Authorities say at about 2:18 pm a 2000 Dodge Caravan was northbound on State Highway 55 milepost 93, south of Smiths Ferry. The driver of the caravan, Kristen Scott 31 of Meridian crossed into the southbound lane. The vehicle was struck by a 1992 Peterbuilt cattle hauler, driven by Daniel McCroden 70 of Nampa. McCroden was uninjured in the crash. Scott was pronounced dead at the scene. Traffic was impacted for about 4 hour.
