Nevada Dust Storm Is Blamed For 27 Car Pileup

By Paul Johnson

Winnemucca, Nevada (CNN) - The Nevada highway patrol has tallied up the damage from a dust storm that caused massive chaos, injuries and a death on I-80 Monday afternoon.
It reports there were up to 27 accidents in the east and westbound lanes as motorists encountered zero visibility in the Winnemucca area.
33 people were admitted to one hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Another three were flown to another hospital with serious injuries.
And one person -- a commercial truck driver -- died.
Both lanes were closed through Tuesday morning while authorities removed vehicles and investigated.
