Los Angeles, California (CNN) - A cement truck overturns, making Tuesday morning's commute a mess for thousands of Californians.
The L.A. county fire department reports at least twelve-people were injured in the accident....three of them critically.
Dozens of gallons of diesel fuel covered the roadways.....causing crews to close all but one lane of the southbound 605.
Here you see crews dealing with the wreckage.
Sgt. Mike Dulong, with the California highway patrol, says officials aren't sure what caused the crash.
"For unknown reasons at this time, he veered to the left, crossing the dirt embankment and entered onto the mainline southbound 605, where he was struck by a white, Dodge van carrying two people."
The roadway was completely re-opened in the early afternoon.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
