LAPD Officer Shot In Face, Probation Officer Also Shot

Los Angeles, California (CNN) - More authorities have been shot in Los Angeles.
An LAPD officer was shot in the face in south Los Angeles Tuesday night, less than a block from an L.A. sheriff's department station.
The officer is in stable condition at a hospital. The officer is conscious and able to communicate.
A probation officer was also shot. That officer was being treated at the scene.
The LAPD has been put on citywide tactical alert.
Police say the shooting appears to be unrelated to Tuesday morning's mid-city shooting of two officers.
In that shooting, the officers were injured in an ambush outside a police station.
Police say two detectives were using a key card to enter the station when someone came up from behind and opened fire.
One officer had a head injury and a bullet grazed the other officer's hand.
Both were treated and released from a hospital.
