3-Lb Metal Bar Falls From Sky Through Roof

By Paul Johnson

Seattle, Washington (CNN) - Seattle police are trying to figure out how a three-pound piece of metal apparently fell from the sky and through a home.
No one was hit by the piece of metal, and no one was hurt.
The family says it happened Sunday, and they contacted police on Tuesday.
Police took photos of the metal bar and the approximately eight-by-six-inch hole it made in the roof and ceiling.
Police say they contacted the federal aviation administration about the incident.
In a police summary, a responding officer said the metal may have fallen from a plane -- or from a really big bird that had stolen a lead bar.
