Truck Crash In Boise Leads to List Of Charges Against Boise Man
Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Boise police say they were called to a vehicle crash early this Thursday morning, that ended with the arrest of a 22 year old man. The crash in the 2300 block of South Pacific Street was reported at 4:08am. The calling party tells officers he did not witness the crash itself. Officers located a pickup sitting on the sidewalk after having crashed into a traffic signal pole and a large rock. The driver was not present and the vehicle had extensive damage.
Using evidence collected at the crash site, officers located the suspect driver identified as Caleb M. Brubaker, at a home on the 2300 block of South Pacific Street a short time later. Brubaker, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, was found in a bedroom laying close to a shotgun. When officers attempted to remove the shotgun from the suspect's immediate reach the man grabbed the shotgun and a struggle took place. Officers managed to wrestle the weapon away from the suspect, who continued to resist officers until he was physically taken into custody. The suspect failed several field sobriety tests and later blew a .14/.13. Officers also recovered a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in plain sight on a dresser in the suspect's room.
Brubaker was charged with Assault or Battery on an officer, Driving under the influence, Leaving the scene of a property damage accident, Possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
