San Diego Mayor Bob Filner Sentenced

By Paul Johnson

San Diego, California (CNN) - Former San Diego mayor Bob Filner was sentenced today for kissing or grabbing women at campaign events or city hall, one a felony false imprisonment charge, the other two misdemeanor battery charges.
But thanks to a plea deal with prosecutors, the 71-year-old won't serve any time behind bars.
Filner pleaded guilty in October to a felony false imprisonment charge and two misdemeanor battery charges.
As part of the plea deal, he was sentenced to three months of home confinement, starting january first, 2014.
He was also sentenced to three years of probation.
Filner addressed the court before the sentencing and apologized to his family and to the women he "hurt and offended."
Filner was elected mayor in november 2012 after serving 20 years in congress.
He resigned in august after 19 women accused him of offensive behavior during his tenure as mayor and as a congressman.
