Crop Circle Was A Marketing Stunt

By Paul Johnson

Chualar, California (CNN) - We now know the origin of this once-mysterious crop circle that appeared last month in California!
Sadly, it's not aliens -- but marketers!
A microchip company came forward last night at the consumer electronics show in las vegas and admitted to the scheme.
The company says it hired a marketing team and experienced crop-circle makers to produce the odd image.
They then placed anonymous calls to local t-v stations, hoping to generate publicity.
It worked -- the story went viral by new year's eve, and drew crowds of curious onlookers before it was mowed down.
The company says it hid clues to in the crop pattern to its origin, using Braille symbols.
