Mudslide Threatening Homes In Washington State

By Paul Johnson

Index, Washington (CNN) - A massive mudslide continues to threaten homes in a small Washington state town.
The slide began last month on a major road and hasn't stopped making it difficult for crews to get the area cleaned up.
The mud brought down power lines, so residents have no electricity.
It also blocked the road so they can't get in or out.
Local t-v station KCPQ reports nearly one hundred people are stranded.
Contractors hope to carve out a temporary road by Tuesday so power crews can restore energy.
