California State Senator Ron Calderon Is Taking A Leave Of Absence

Sacramento, California (CNN) - California state senator Ron Calderon announced Sunday he is taking a leave of absence to fight federal corruption charges.
Calderon is accused of taking bribes, paying his daughter for a bogus office job and paying for his son's schooling.
In a statement, Calderon said "this is not a resignation."
The lawmaker says he need time to fight the charges against him.
