Portion Of I-90 Near Idaho Montana Border Closed

By Paul Johnson

Idaho/Montana Line ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - The Idaho State Police and Montana Department of Transportation say Lookout Pass on I-90 from the Idaho/Montana stateline to St. Regis, Montana is closed due to avalanche danger. Six minor slides have been reported in the area, so a nearly 34-mile stretch of the highway was closed as a precaution.
No one is allowed past the road closure signs, even on foot.
Officials with the Idaho State Police say the exact time frame for the closure is unknown but may be up to several days. Motorists needing to go to Montana are asked to use U.S. 95 to State Highway 200 or U.S. 2 as an alternate route to their destination.
