Deadly Plane Crash In Truckee

By Paul Johnson

Truckee, California (CNN) - One person died and another was critically hurt when a single-engine plane crashed in the snowy California Mountains.
Rescue crews used snowmobiles and Snowcats to reach the scene.
It took crews several hours to get the survivor out to an ambulance because of the hard-to-reach crash site.
A California highway patrol pilot helped locate the downed plane.
The plane was sitting in a bed of snow. The left wing was torn off. Most of the rest of the plane was intact. Reporter: the plane was upright?
Lewis: yes, upright in the snow.
The FAA and the national transportation safety board are investigating the crash.
It's too early to say what caused it.
