Charles Manson Associate Bruce Davis Granted Parole
(CNN) - Former Charles Manson associate Bruce Davis has been granted parole in California.
But that doesn't necessarily mean he'll end up tasting freedom.
Davis was sent to state prison on a life sentence in 1972 for the first-degree murders of two people.
The parole board granted the 71-year-old parole after his 28th parole hearing on Wednesday.
There's still a 120-day internal review period.
After that, the governor will have 30 days to nullify or modify the decision.
The board has granted Davis parole twice in the past.
But in both cases, the governor at the time reversed the decision.
