K-9 Wounded, Suspect Killed In Shootout With Police

Anaheim, California (CNN) - A shootout with police in southern California left a suspect dead... And a police dog wounded.
It happened Thursday afternoon in Anaheim.
Officers say they were conducting a home check on someone serving probation.
They say when they got to the home; the man and two people he was with took off running.
Shortly after, a k-9 found one of the men hiding in the trash can.
Officers say the suspect shot the dog and fired at police.
Officers say they fired back, killing the suspect.
The seven-year-old k-9, named Bruno, underwent surgery to treat his injuries.
The dog is expected to survive.
Officers say they did catch the man on probation they were searching for, but the third suspect is still on the loose.
