Tighter Guideline On Abortion Pill Goes Into Effect In Arizona

By Paul Johnson

Arizona (CNN) - A new guideline on r-u-486, known as the abortion pill, goes into effect in Arizona this Tuesday.
The rule was created under a state bill in 2012.
Doctors used to be able to prescribe the pill for women through the ninth week of pregnancy.
Under the new, tighter guideline, it can only be prescribed through the seventh week of pregnancy.
Last week, a federal judge denied Planned Parenthood’s request for an injunction on the change.
