By Paul Johnson

Los Angeles, California (CNN) - The Los Angeles fire department worked to clean up a big mess after an oil spill this Thursday morning.
Authorities say they had to close a road when thousands of gallons of crude oil leaked after an above ground line broke.
The knee-high mess gave off a strong odor.
Two women were taken to the hospital in connection with the leak.
There's no word on how they were injured, but they are now in fair condition.
As of eight a-m about 10-thousand gallons were still on the street.
