Teen Rescued From Cliff In Darkness

Phoenix, Arizona (CNN) - A dramatic and risky night-time rescue in Phoenix.
A 16-year-old boy was rescued from the side of a mountain monday night.
Helicopter and ground crews were called to the buffalo ridge quarry.
He had apparently been hiking with a teenage girl when he found himself unable to get down.
The girl was able to make it to the foot of the mountain and call for help.
Teams of rescuers had to rappel down to reach the stranded teen on the side of the mountain.
They then strapped him into a safety harness, and managed to lower him to the ground.
Firefighters say the teen should not have been on the side of that mountain at night, especially without proper gear.
The area is not safe for hiking, and is considered private property.
