Police Use Stungun On Man With Knife In Jail Lobby

Phoenix, Arizona (CNN) - A sheriff's detention officer deployed his taser on a homeless man brandishing two knives and making threatening statements.
That's according to the Maricopa County, Arizona sheriff's office.
33-year-old Jesse Bustos Arce had been booked into jail on disorderly conduct charges.
The sheriff's office said he came out from the men's bathroom in the jail lobby Monday morning carrying the two knives and uttering threats.
When he refused orders to drop the weapons, surveillance video shows sheriff's personnel rushed in with weapons drawn.
A detention officer deployed his taser.
Other officers then quickly subdued Arce without injury or further incident.
Joe Arpaio said Arce claimed to be attempting "suicide by cop."
Arce is now housed in the sheriff's jail psych unit.
