Man Stopped With Pepper Spray After Attempting to Take Woman’s Purse

Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Police in Boise are searching for a man who reportedly tried to reach into a woman’s car and take her purse. Police say the woman grabbed her purse first, pulled out pepper spray and used it on the man. He was last seen running east on Marvin Street.
Authorities say they were called at 8:54 am to the location on South Newport at West Marvin Street, just north of Overland Road. The woman tells officers she was sitting in her car parked on Newport Street. Her passenger side window was open. A man approached the car and through the passenger window asked her for change. When she responded she did not have any, the man reportedly reached inside her car for her purse. The woman grabbed the purse, pulled out pepper spray that was inside the bag and sprayed it at the man. He ran off headed eastbound on Marvin.
The suspect is described as a light skinned male in his 30's with facial hair, tall, approx 6;2", wearing a black hoodie with a black T-shirt underneath.
