Rescuer And Hiker Die At Pilchuk Falls

Pilchuck Falls, Washington (CNN) - A man trying to rescue two stranded hikers fell to his death in Washintgon state.
JB Bryson was training with Skagit county search and rescue Saturday when the two hikers fell and rescuers raced to the scene.
As they tried to reach the stranded hikers, Bryson also fell and was killed.
His family gathered at his house Sunday last night to remember him.
"The idea of being able to be outside, which is what he loved...being an outdoorsman, but also helping and making a difference in a really very clear and very direct way was really important to him."
"I love him and i miss him and I'm always going to admire and respect his service and his commitment to the community."
"He was someone people enjoyed being around. His smile was just really inviting."
One of the hikers was also killed.
The second managed to cling to a tree and was rescued.
