One Person Dead After Vehicle Strikes Large Dump Truck

Lake Fork, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - On Thursday, Idaho State Police say a McCall resident died after his 2007 Toyota Rav4 collided with a Peterbuilt Dump Truck. The crash on State Highway 55 near Lake Fork was reported just after 1:30pm Thursday. Police say Jay Murphy, 70 was southbound on 55 when he veered across traffic an struck the dump truck driven by Michael Conaway 57 of New Meadows. Murphy was wearing his seatbelt and airbags did deploy, however he was pronounced deceased at the scene. Conaway was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured in the crash. State Highway 55 was blocked for approximately 4 hours while Troopers investigated the crash.
