Washington State Governor Declares State Of Emergency

Leavenworth, Washington (CNN) - Several wildfires prompted the governor of Washington state to declare a state of emergency for 20 counties.
The fast-moving Chiwaukum creek fire is among them.
Authorities say nearly 900 homes received notices to evacuate immediately.
And authorities closed u-s highway two, the main road to Leavenworth.
The U.S. forestry service says the fire started as a 465-acre blaze earlier Wednesday, then grew rapidly.
About 180 firefighters are battling the fire.
