McCall, Idaho Selected As Top Place To Retire

McCall, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - McCall, ID, has been selected as a top retirement destination by Where to Retire, the only magazine in America geared toward helping people with retirement relocation decisions. The city is profiled in the September/October issue, available nationwide on Aug. 12, 2014.
Where to Retire Editor Annette Fuller said McCall possesses qualities important to today’s retirees. “Far away from all things urban, McCall is a small city with one-of-a-kind shops and eateries with hardly any national chains in sight. The mountain town has the gorgeous Payette Lake surrounded by Ponderosa State Park. The outdoor adventures are almost limitless – snowshoeing, whitewater rafting, fishing, golfing and skiing are just a few. The McCall Music Society is active in the community, hosting free concerts year-round and a large music festival each July,” Fuller said.
Each year, 700,000 Americans relocate to new towns to retire. Generally, relocating retirees are healthier, better educated and more affluent than those who choose to not relocate. They bring significant economic benefits to their new states and hometowns. Nationally, two dozen states and hundreds of towns seek to attract retirees as a source of economic development.
