More Tickets Issued After Speed Limit Increases
Idaho Falls, Idaho ( KIFI-TV ) - State troopers are handing out more speeding tickets on interstates where speed limits have increased.
According to KIFI that's compared to the same time last year.
The agency told the Idaho Statesman that some drivers appear to think the new 80 mile per hour speed limit means they can go 90.
But, an agency spokesperson says troopers aren't giving speeders a break.
Speed limits on rural sections of interstates 84, 86 and 15 increased from 75 to 80 miles an hour in late July.
The agency attributes at least two crashes in South-Central Idaho to the higher speed.
