MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) _ The U.S. Marshals Service says the son of
a man killed when he opened fire at a Las Vegas courthouse was
arrested in Tennessee after making numerous death threats.
Richard Nelson, a 37-year-old ex-convict, made a brief federal
court appearance in Memphis and was ordered held until a bond
revocation hearing next week.
The marshals said Nelson was detained after making numerous
death threats to his supervising pretrial officer and saying he
would kill others as well. The agency said its initial report that
Nelson threatened to blow up the Memphis federal building was
incorrect.
Nelson's aunt, Elaine Osborne, told The Associated Press that
her nephew hadn't spent much time with his father, Johnny Lee
Wicks, and she doubted he was angry about Wicks' death in the
courthouse gun battle.
