SALT LAKE CITY (AP) _ Utah's ski resorts love the sight of snow
near springtime.
With a slow start to the ski season, the industry is hoping for
a strong finish. The storm that dumped as many as 20 inches of snow
in the Wasatch mountains Thursday and Friday helped.
Ski Utah president Nathan Rafferty said Friday that his group
won't have seasonal skier visit totals for the 13 Utah resorts
until after April.
Rafferty says the slumping economy has been hard on resorts
because people aren't booking big trips in advance like they used
to. So the longer winter storms continue, the better the finish for
resorts.
