Ada County Locate Fugitive From Idaho Prison

Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Acting on an anonymous tip called into the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, a team of undercover law enforcement officers located a fugitive wanted by the Idaho Department of Corrections. Authorities say they found David Leroy Persons walking near the intersection of Cole Road and Overland Road in Boise around 10pm Wednesday. He is facing the possibility of two to 10 years in prison after violating the terms of his probation.
On Sept. 13, 2013 in Boise County, a court sentenced Persons to two to 10 years in prison for vehicular manslaughter in connection with the 2012 death of four-year-old Pearl Sittner. She was killed when the SUV Persons was driving plunged off Arrowrock Road.

On March 13, the court suspended Persons’ sentence and ordered him released on probation after he completed an intensive drug and alcohol treatment program. On April 14, IDOC requested the public’s assistance in locating Persons for failing to maintain contact with his probation officer.
