Airplane Catches On Fire at Sea-Tac
Sea-Tac, Washington (KIRO) An airplane caught on fire Saturday evening at the Seattle–Tacoma International Airport.
A United Airlines flight was departing for Washington, D.C. when the fire was discovered. Passengers were evacuated from the plane immediately. Firefighters were able to contain the fire. No one was hurt during the incident. The fire broke out at the auxiliary power unit in the tail end of the plane, which is the back end of the jet engine. According to a spokesman for the Sea–Tac Airport, the cause of the fire was due to residual oil in the tailpipe. Comments ( |
