Amelia Earhart To Take Trip Around The World
Oakland, California (CNN) A modern-day Amelia Earhart is taking a trip around the world in tribute to the famous pilot.
31-year-old Amelia Rose Earhart – yes, that's her real name - is due to take off Thursday from Oakland, California.
She will follow the same flight plan her namesake took in 1937.
Earhart quit her job as a TV traffic and weather reporter in Denver to plan for the adventure.
She is attempting to fly 28 thousand miles in a single-engine aircraft.
The trip will take about two and a half weeks and cover 14 countries.
