EUGENE, Oregon (KGW) With the Summer Olympics less than six months away, most athletes are training hard for the big event. But one top competitor has taken a little time off from his practice, to sell a part of himself.

Nick Symmonds is the top 800-meter runner in the United States, and sixth in the world.

And, soon, he'll be turning his body into a moving billboard of sorts.
The Olympian set up an eBay auction, offering the highest bidder the chance to put a Twitter name on the Symmonds' shoulder for a year.

The auction started ten days ago at 99-cents and closed today, with a winning bid of 11-thousand-100 dollars.

No word yet on what Twitter address the winner will choose.
But Symmonds says he's pretty flexible.

"I am prepared to put @ilovejustinbieber on my arm. I reserve the right to have final say on what goes on my shoulder."

Symmonds will be required to cover up the temporary tattoo during some events.

But, he says it's still a creative way for athletes who don't typically get many sponsorships to increase their compensation.
