Boise, Idaho ( KBOI ) Bogus Basin is now open in southwestern Idaho as Sunday was opening day on the mountain.
Managers say about 1,700 skiers and snow boarders hit the slopes, that was a better turnout than expected.
Even though only 3 lifts are open, folks were excited to get in their first runs of the year.
Bennett Webster, a snowboarder explains, It's good because there's not a lot of people here so it's easier to get on the chairlift and get a lot of runs in"
Kim Gurgel, a skier adds, "we're excited that it opened earlier so we can get a bigger longer season in and hopefully some great snow some great weather good conditions"
"When bogus gets more snow and it fully opens more people are going to show up and i think people around to be having a blast still as in the years past... I know I'm going to have fun," adds Justin Fox, a snowboarder.
Bogus will be open weekdays 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The price right now is reduced to $25 and will go up when more runs are open.
