Boise, Idaho ( KBOI2 News ) Boise High School was evacuated Thursday following an anonymous bomb threat.

It started out as a fire drill...but quickly turned into a bomb threat....

"Didn't really know what was going on, till we heard there was a bomb threat. Kinda scary. Didn't think something like that would happen in Boise," said Melanie Overstreet, student.

Students were evacuated onto Boise High's football field...while police and sniffer dogs went through the school and student backpacks.

William Overstreet, student explains, "Went outside, about an hour found out it was a bomb threat, kinda scary."

Parents were alerted by school district e–mail...and many parents who worked nearby...showed up quickly to check on their children.

"What went through your mind? Looked like everybody was safe, wasnt that worried, everybody was out no fire all of that," says Bob Overstreet, parent.

Vickie DeMatteo, parent explains, "Well I work right over here in the YMCA so my daughter texted me and said there was a bomb threat."

And a couple of hours, police gave the all clear....and the students were allowed to go back to class...after the unexpected interruption of their academics.
