Boise Police Arrest Bicyclist After Finding Drugs
Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Boise Police have arrested a resident on drug charges after he was spotted riding a bicycle without the required reflector or light. At about 1:50 am early this Friday morning, a Boise Police officer patrolling near Five Mile and West McMillan Road, spotted a bicycle rider northbound without a rear reflector or headlight. The officer stopped the cyclist about the equipment violation.
The man initially identified himself with a name that turned out false. When police searched a bag he was carrying officers found a powder that turned out to be Methamphetamine. The officer also found several hypodermic needles, a plastic bag of marijuana and additional drug paraphernalia. When the man was taken to the jail, his real name was confirmed. Turns out he had three outstanding warrants for his arrest.
Police identified the suspect as Russell Carl Patterson, 51 of Boise. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance-Meth, possession of marijuana, providing false information to police, a bicycle equipment violation in addition to his 2 warrant parole violations and failure to appear warrant.
