Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Boise Police say they have arrested and charged a man that they say may be responsible with causing $217,000 damage through Graffiti vandalism.
Matthew Armstrong 20, of Boise earlier had been charged with malicious injury to property. On May 6, Armstrong was arrested on a probation violation. While in the Ada County Jail, Tuesday, he was served with the additional felony charges. Boise Police officers have been investigating reports and connecting leads in this case for many months. Investigators say the suspect used largely spray paint, but also other mediums to damage both private and public property with several slogans, symbols or “tags”. Damage was done to some 342 pieces of property including people’s homes and garages, small businesses, fences, walls, utility boxes, city parks and public schools.
The images show examples of some of the damage officers believe the suspect is responsible for. The images have been altered so as not to glorify the symbols but to illustrate the variety and extent of damage done.
