Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Boise Police arrested a woman last night after she repeatedly told officers she did not have possession of a lost dog. Officers say they gave Kelly R. Featherston 48 of Boise several chances to return the dog without consequences. The woman eventually allowed an officer into her home where the dog was located. The woman was arrested on grand theft charges. Boise Police were called by the owner of a dog who claimed the dog had gotten loose in a parking lot. The dog owner was contacted by a woman who said she'd found the dog, but couldn't keep it at her home so she had given it to the suspect. The woman who found the dog gave the owner the suspect's contact information so she could retirieve the animal. When the owner went to retreive the dog from the suspect's w.Boise home, the suspect reportedly told the victim the dog was no longer there although the victim could hear several dogs barking inside. The dog is a toy breed valued at approximately $700. Officers arrived at the suspect's home and repeatedly asked if she had the dog inside. After much negotiation, the suspect allowed an officer into her home where the officer found the dog. The suspect was placed under arrest for Grand Theft and transported to the Ada County jail.
