California Authorities Find Two Kids During Meth Lab Raid
San Jose, California (CNN) A block in a California neighborhood was shut down after a drug raid Friday morning.
When authorities went to this home in San Jose, they say they found a meth lab along with two children.
Since the chemicals used to make the drug are so volatile and potentially explosive, police shut down the entire block to traffic.
Patrick Vanier with the Santa Clara District Attorney's Office describes the bust.
“Officers made entry into the location and located an active methamphetamine lab. It was a conversion lab where crystal methamphetamine is produced from this drug lab. There were also two residents located inside the house, two adults, as well as two children,” he says.
The children were placed with child protective services.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and hazardous materials crews are also involved in this investigation.
At least one person has been arrested.
