California Brush Fire Grows To More Than 1,000 Acres

Rancho Cucamonga, California (CNN) Firefighters are hoping to gain ground on a wildfire burning in southern California.

The fire near Rancho Cucamonga is now about a thousand acres and only about 10 percent contained.

Firefighters may have a tough job on their hands getting it under control, as winds are expected to kick up.

Voluntary evacuations are in place for some nearby neighborhoods.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
