California State Senator Arrested In Alleged Corruption Crackdown

San Francisco, California (CNN) A California State Senator has been arrested in an alleged corruption crackdown.

An FBI spokesman declined to discuss details of State Senator Leland Yee's arrest - citing an ongoing investigation.

The arrest came during a series of raids across Sacramento and the Bay Area.

Yee, a Democrat, represents western San Francisco and much of San Mateo County.

He is also running for California Secretary of State.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in federal court in San Francisco Wednesday afternoon.
