Child Seriously Injured Following Accident On Bike With Car

Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Boise Police continue to investigate just what happened that caused the collision between a car and a young teen cyclist Sunday night on Ustick Road near Jullion Street.
At this time, the 13 year old girl hit by the car remains hospitalized. Investigating officers say they have been told her injuries are life threatening.
"These cases can be the most difficult, not only for officers, but for the community in searching for answers. We know we join many in the community in sending our thoughts to the families involved and all who've been touched by this tragic case." said Captain Eugene Smith of the Boise Police Patrol Division.
Reconstruction experts investigated the crash Sunday night. Officers were called at 6:26 p.m. to the intersection of West Ustick Road and Jullion Street. Witnesses say a car traveling west on Ustick collided with a 13 year old girl riding a bike. The girl was crossing Ustick at Jullion north to south when the collision occurred. The child was not wearing a helmet. The girl was riding her bike with two other children when the crash happened. The female driver of the 4-door sedan is being cooperative.
