Child Seriously Injured While Riding Bike

Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Monday afternoon just before 3:30, Boise Police say a child riding bike was seriously injured after being struck by a semi truck. It happened in the eastbound lanes of Fairview Avenue at North McKinney Lane just east of Cole Road.

Witnesses tell officers a five year old boy entered the traffic lane and was hit by a large commercial truck. The child was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where information given to officers is he is suffering from serious injuries. The driver of the truck, a man from Caldwell was not injured.

Witnesses say the boy was riding bikes with a five year old girl who was had just crossed Fairview. The boy was following behind when he was hit. The child’s parents were on scene a short time later and are with the boy at the hospital.
