Congressional report: Listeria outbreak could have been prevented
DENVER, Colorado (CNN) Do you remember the listeria outbreak last September that killed 30 people?
Now the company linked to a Colorado cantaloupe farm is accused of ignoring the FDA's advice. A congressional report found the company, Bio Food Safety, conducted a July safety audit and gave the farm near–perfect marks despite finding three major problems. Like not properly washing the cantaloupes in water with an anti–bacterial additive. The CDC says it was the deadliest outbreak of food borne illness in more than a quarter–century. Comments ( |
