WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) _ A Utah prosecutor is seeking an
adult murder charge against a 16-year-old accused of stabbing a
classmate to death in an argument over ownership of an iPod.
The teen is due for arraignment next Tuesday on a first-degree
murder charge in the slaying of 15-year-old Taylor Pankow in front
of a Family Dollar store in West Valley City. Both boys attended
Hunter High School.
Salt Lake County district attorney spokesman Mark Biljanic says
the felony murder case falls under the jurisdiction of state
courts. The accused teen is jailed on $1 million bond.
Police say he admitted stabbing Pankow twice last Tuesday.
Pankow died of a stab wound to the chest.
Pankow's grandfather says the family has already forgiven the
accused assailant.
