Dangerous Sledding Accidents In Boise

Boise, Idaho (KBOI) It's sledding season, but the danger is clear.

In the last few days, one woman broke her leg at a park in Boise after colliding with another sledder and this weekend, a young boy slid off Simplot Hill right into the side of a car.

Dozens of kids were having a great time sledding down Simplot Hill Saturday afternoon, but parents say they see plenty of close calls.

'This place is not safe.' That's what's written on signs now posted on Simplot Hill.

The signs urge people to help get the hill shut down after Saturday's accident.

"If everybody works together and kind of watched out for one another, I think everything will be alright. You can see some of the kids coming down here pretty quick so as long as somebody is down at the bottom of the hill to stop them, I think everything will be ok," adds Danny Hamrick.

Parents say it's important to talk to your kids about safety when sledding. One parent suggested adding hay bails to where the hill meets the street.
