Prescott, Arizona (CNN) A family in Arizona is lucky to be alive after an accident on an icy road.

A woman in northern Arizona was traveling with her sister and two young nieces when it began to snow and she hit a patch of ice.

The Department of Public Safety says she was only going about 15 miles-per-hour when she lost control on a curve and the car plunged about 250 feet down a cliff.

As the vehicle flipped, the children say their mother kept reminding them to keep calm.

Amazingly, only one person was hurt.

"She's extremely lucky as was everyone else in the car, actually, who did well," says Dr. Heidi Dalton, who treated the family.

One of the young girls has a ping-pong fracture in her skull.

Doctors say that it will heal.
