Lodi, California (CNN) Police in California are still searching for a suspect after the fatal stabbing of an L.A. Dodgers fan following a baseball game in San Francisco Wednesday.

Twenty-four-year-old Jonathan Denver died after being stabbed during a fight just blocks away from the stadium.

Denver's father, a security guard for the Dodgers, spoke Sunday about the loss.

"We all must understand how incredibly difficult this is and has been for me and my family. Losing a child is a heartache no parent should have to endure," he said.

Police are now asking for the public's help to identify anyone potentially connected with the stabbing.

A 21-year-old man had been arrested last week, but he was released late Friday.

San Francisco's police chief called the killing "senseless."

The Dodgers held a moment of silence for Denver before their Thursday night game.
