Firefighter Statue Moved From Boise Airport To Arizona
Boise, Idaho ( KBOI ) A firefighter statue has been standing in front of the Boise Airport at arrivals for years now.
This display of honor and respect was removed Sunday morning and taken to Prescott, Arizona.
To pay tribute to the 19 firefighters who lost their lives last weekend,
after a wildfire took an unexpected turn.
"The magnitude of loss, the least we can do... Among 10,000 other grieving hot shots," adds Burk Minor, Director, Wildland Firefighter Foundation.
It took a crane, trailer, and charter plane to get the statue to Arizona.
The memorial service will be held on Tuesday.
Then the statue will make its way back to the Treasure Valley.
